About Blog
Welcome to my Blog.
I hope you enjoy the glorious nuggets of wisdom I will share. There are books, subjects and thoughts shared on this blog that will seriously change your life and make you think, so tread with caution
My blog is a reflection of a number of things that are important to me. I will be discussing my/our leadership journey, the adventures of homeschooling, and my family and personal life (history, day-to-day and dreams and plans for a better future).
Meaning of Current Theme (added Dec 28/2009)
Since we are heading to Florida to pursue tennis for the kids, the theme reflects this dream as well as our travels by the RV.
The Usual Suspects
Just so you know, the main actors in this particular play are of course my immediate family. This is how I will refer to them. I think you will soon get the hang of it:
Me: You’ll get to know me by reading my blog, so we’ll leave it at that.
Chuti: This would be my husband. Allow me to explain why I call him this. I have known him since I was ~4 years old and that is what his family called him, so as family friends, we just followed suit. It means ‘little one’ in Sinhalese and he was the little one for a few years after he was born, until his next two siblings arrived. The name stuck. Let’s just clarify that other than the name, he’s no ‘little one’
He has such gentle grace, quiet strength and the purest, biggest and most generous noble heart of anyone I’ve ever known.
I have 4 kids and I refer to them by initial only in this blog. We purposely named them so that none of us would overlap on the first initial and that way when I write about them, I’ve always used their initials to refer to them. So that would be:
D: (born in 2000, a dragon in the Chinese zodiac) She is our oldest, brilliant, artistic, organized, and tough.
K: (born in 2002, a horse) He is our second and this character is creative, interesting, loving, sweet. His new nickname is The Slice Technician or Doctor of Slice for his natural ability to impart excessive spin on the tennis ball with his tennis racket.
M: (born in 2005, a rooster) She is our third child, and is superb, friendly, funny and demanding.
H: (born in 2008, a rat) He is our baby, this gift is alert, quick, gentle and generous.
Read about these characters in my detailed post about them: Thankful for my four precious jewels.
